Directions to Hostel Clandestino
How to get to Clandestino
If you are already in Nicaragua, there are two ways of getting to Hostel Clandestino.
You can either take a private taxi (preferably 4x4 in order to get up the hill) straight to the hostel.
Or you can take a shuttle from Casa Oro, a well known hostel in the center of San Juan del Sur, to Playa Maderas. From where the shuttle drops you off at the beach, it's about a 10 minute walk up the hill to the hostel. Right now the shuttle goes four times a day.
These are the directions coming from the beach: you walk back the road towards San Juan just a bit for about 200 mts and take the left uphill (right by Maderas Cafe and Big Drop Surf House). You keep going this road until you reach Hostel Clandestino at the top of the hill.
We are more than happy to arrange transportation for you, just let us know ahead of time. In case you arrange your own transportation, please keep in mind that you need a 4WD to get up the hill to Hostel Clandestino.
